    “Maria! Drey!”, lily’s calling.

I ran to the door and Lily was there with her try. It was full. “We get delivery order again Mom!”, I shouted.

    “Breakfast time, dear.”

“Thank Lily. Next time, I will cook for you back. I promise.”

“I’ll keep that. I will be in home, just ask me if you need more or something okay?”

“Sure.”, I nodded. “Thank Lily!”, I shouted to her while she walked to her home.

I walked so slowly to dining room. The tray was quite heavy so I watched my steps keeping from unbalance movement that could make me threw it all down.

“So Mom, what is our plan today?”, I asked her while taking off  some pears’ skin.

    “Hmm.. waiting..”

“For?”, knocked door stopped our conversation. “Let me Mom. That’s may be Lily. Maybe she just want to check, am I suffering starvation or not?”, I chuckled, remembering how many times last night Lily came again and again to feeding me. She was worrying me too much, bringing some different menus in each hour.

“With Mrs. Maria Casey?”, I found a man with blue uniform and blue hat at door.

“Mom!”, I called my Mom.“Did we win some lotteries?”, I hissed on her ear surprising by some big packages that was brought by a group of blue man.

“Could you bring these all in please.”, my Mom asked with no surprised expression at all, she’d knew it.

I just stood up watching them like a foreman, folding my arms across my chess. I thought Santa was red. The packages were electronic stuff: a television, a refrigerator, a washing machine and two air conditioners. Mom guided them placing those electronic stuffs in right place. The house was perfect now, loved it.

We were just enjoying our new television then, listing the channels, searching the interest ones but the door suddenly was knocked again. “Is there anything else that you are waiting for Mom?”, I glanced at her.

“Yes.”, she answered with teasing smile line.

“Okay, let me!”, I run to the door hastily, I had a good feeling about it.

Oh my God! I almost couldn’t breathe. “Mom, we won the grand prize!”, I shouted, seeing a blue car with big silver ribbon on it.

“Hi Phillip.”, my Mom was already beside me, shaking hands with a man who stood just right in front of the door, front of me, but I didn’t see because of the car’s charm was blurring everything.

“Hi Maria. Wow, long times no see you.”

“Yeah, it was almost eighteen of years.”

“I’d heard about Irfan, I’m sorry for that.”

    “Thank Phillip.”

“Mom.”, I interrupted my Mom, trying to bring her cheer back.

“Oh Drey, it is Phillip Walter. He was my college’s friend and has been my best friend ever.”, Mom introduced.

“Nice to see you Mr. Walter.”, I greeted him with untouched shook hands, gathering my two palms in front of my chess. It was a good behave to respect man human in my belief -not to touch a man or a boy except he was my own flesh and blood father, grandfather, brother, son or a man who was legally be my husband or kids-.

“Wow, you look like Irfan a lot.”, he told his first impression.

“At all, but the gender.”, I corrected his conclusion about my look.

“Oh Drey come on!”, Mom held my shoulder with her left arm. “It’s not her favorite topic by the way”, Mom told him what I felt.

“Oh I’m sorry, but why? It was a compliment.”

“I know, thank for that Mr. Walter. I just, because everybody said so, it feels like the world against me to be my Mom’s daughter.”

“Oh, dear, don’t worry about that. I’m on your side.”, My Mom calmed me.

“May I’m in too?”, Mr. Walter requested.

“Oh good, you have two defender now. Won’t you give your new defender a cup of tea Drey?”, Mom gave me a code to do what I should do.

“Oh, of course. Please come in Mr. Walter.”, I pleased him.

I went to kitchen to make some tea. Yes, Lily had completed our dining table with everything. There were brown teas, green teas, white teas in different marks of each kind. I picked the brown. Its taste was perfect with some ice in this hot summer.

“Sorry Mary, I drove your new car.”

I could hear their conversation from kitchen clearly. Of course, it was small house.

“Oh Phillip, thank for your help and thank for your kindness to drive it here by yourself. So, how much should I pay for the rest?”

    “Nope”

“Oh, Phillip, come on! I’m serious.”

“No, Maria. I think what Drey had said is true, you have won the grand prize.”

    “No way Phill.”

“Please Mary. You can consider it as your accumulated birthday gifts of seventeen of years, okay.”

“Ice tea is coming!”, I joined with Lily’s tray on my hand. I put two big cup of glasses on table and hold the tray on my lap while I sat next to my Mom.

“Thank Drey. How about your school in Indonesia?”, Mr. Walter started to talk with me.

“Great. I got the second place.”, I said proudly.

    “Wow, congratulation to you.”

    “Thank Mr. Walter.”

“Dear, had I told you that Mr. Walter is a headmaster?”, Mom asked me.

“Is he?”, I asked her back but my eyes looked at Mr. Walter with reflect.

“Yes. You still want to go to school, right?”

    “Of course, Mom.”

“So, Mr. Walter is a headmaster of Maryland High School. That means your headmaster now.”

“Wow, my headmaster come to my house and gives me a new car. How lucky student I Am.”, I impressed.

“Your Mom bought that.”, he corrected me. “This is the address.”, Mr. Walter gave me a name card. “The school will start on first August, come at seven and half to my room first and I’ll help you the next, okay?”

“Wow, thank you Mr. Walter.”, I said with very blessing feeling. It felt like Maryland was welcoming me. Though, it was just less than two days I’d been living here, I’d almost got everything; the beautiful house, Lily’s free delivery order, the all packages from the blue Santa, and the grand prize from my new headmaster, cool.

It was very fun to talk with Phillip, he urged me to call him by that. He was very friendly and loveable man. He didn’t look like a headmaster at all. Moreover I thought I forgot that he was. He never stopped talking and Mom was laughing so many times with him, beautiful view.

I saw a silver car stopped in front of my house and Phillip’s phone rang then.

“It’s time to go now. See you in school Drey.”, he got ready to go after he looked  the car outside.

“Sure. Thank for coming Phillip.”, I greeted him with gathered my two palms on my chess and he did the same to me back right now.

“Hi Mrs. Casey?”, a boy greeted my mom from inside the car.

“Is that your baby Dave?”, my Mom asked Phillip while the boy got out from the car and walked closing to us.

He looked wow. I meant, his perfect blue eyes were beautiful. I couldn’t imagine what would happen with him if he were on my school, my earlier school. He was too awesome to be there or anywhere, maybe.

“My grew up teen.”, Phillip added.

“Hi Mrs. Casey, Dad was so enthusiastic heard you would come here. Nice to finally see you now.”, that boy shook my Mom hands.

“Was he?”, Mom glanced at Phillip.

“Oh Dave come on!”, Phillip stopped him to talk more.

“Okay Dad.”, He smiled with subtly.

“And kids, Dave, this is Maria’s daughter, Drey and Drey, this is Dave, one of your new friend in school.”, Phillip introduced us each other.

“Hi.”, he held out his right hand to me, offering for shake hands.

“Hi.” I greeted him. “Hmm, I’m sorry.”, I said that while I just gathered my two palms on my chess.

“Oh, okay.”, he pulled his hand with curios.

“Can you take one picture of us Dave?”, Phillip asked.

“Oh, sure. I think the battery can take one more shoot again”, he pulled out the XLR camera from the case that he crossed on his chess.

There was no more conversation then. They were in hurry. Phillip sat on driver’s seat and Dave sat on the next. I could feel Dave always stared at me since our introduction. He was watching me from the top to my bluster blue sock every time I tried to see him. I guessed I knew what he was thinking about, what else, like the world had did it to me, doubting my status as my Mom’s daughter. Or maybe, he was offended by my attitude. What kind of girl I am who was too brave to refuse the hand of gorgeous boy.  I hoped Phillip would explain about my behave thing to him. I did it to Phillip too, so he should not to feel irritated by that.
